Gnoppix 24.8.1 Released
Update: Due to significant changes in hardware detection, the public downloadable version will be released earlier this month.
We’re excited to announce the release of Gnoppix 24.8.1.
A Note on Our Location:
Due to recent changes in European Union law (the Ki Act), we’ve relocated our operations to Singapore. This move was necessary to avoid legal risks associated with open-source KI. We understand the importance of open-source software and are committed to finding solutions that comply with these new regulations while maintaining our core values.
Website Improvements:
We’ve revamped our website with a new content management system (CMS) for easier navigation and updated information. We’ll continue make some significant improvements here.
AMD Graphics Card Support:
We regret to inform you that we are no longer able to provide support for AMD graphics cards. We’ve encountered significant difficulties in resolving compatibility issues and have been met with little cooperation from AMD. We recommend using Nvidia graphics cards for optimal performance. This doesn’t mean it isn’t not working at all, it mean you need to help yourself in case you run into problems.
Expanded Hardware Compatibility:
As a result of our relocation, we’ve been able to significantly improve hardware detection in Gnoppix. This means better support for Wi-Fi adapters, network cards, dongles, and USB adapters. This works “on the fly” the system detects your hardware and install the driver itself.
To enhance compatibility, we’ve included the following firmware files directly into Gnoppix:
